Use this page to permanently delete your ThynkPay account. We'll verify it's you with a one-time code by SMS, then with your 6-digit PIN, before anything is removed.

What happens when you delete your account

  • Personal data removed. Your name, email, profile photo, and any other personal information you provided is permanently deleted from our systems. Your authentication account is also deleted, so the phone number is no longer linked to anyone.
  • Wallet must be empty. If you still have money in your ThynkPay wallet, the deletion is refused. Withdraw to your bank first, then come back.
  • Transaction records retained for 5 years. Nigerian anti-money-laundering law requires us to keep transaction records for at least 5 years. These are anonymised — they no longer identify you personally — but they are not deleted.
  • This cannot be undone. Once you confirm, the deletion is immediate. You can re-register with the same phone number at any time — but you'll start fresh with a new account.
