Where can I download the ThynkPay app?
ThynkPay is live on Google Play (search “ThynkPay” or open play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thynkpay.mobile) and the App Store (apps.apple.com/app/id6760615518). Both listings link straight to the download. Scan the QR codes in the “Get the app” section above with your phone camera for a one-tap install.
How does ThynkPay actually work?
Merchants get a QR code. Customers scan it (with ThynkPay or any banking app that supports NIBSS transfers) and type the amount. The money lands in the merchant's ThynkPay wallet — a real bank account at Providus Bank — which can be withdrawn to any Nigerian bank at any time.
Is my money safe?
Yes. Your money sits at Providus Bank, a CBN-licensed Nigerian commercial bank. ThynkPay is the app on top — like how WhatsApp uses your phone's data plan. Even if ThynkPay stopped existing, your money would still be at Providus and you could withdraw it directly through them.
What does it cost?
For merchants: no setup fee, no monthly fee. Free for amounts under ₦500. ₦5 for ₦500–₦2,000, ₦10 for ₦2,000–₦10,000, ₦20 for anything above ₦10,000. For customers: the app is free — the merchant's fee covers the cost.
How fast does the money arrive?
Wallet-to-wallet payments (customer → merchant) settle in under 5 seconds. Bank withdrawals (your ThynkPay wallet → your Nigerian bank account) settle within minutes — usually under 60 seconds.
Do I need a POS machine?
No. Just a phone that can display a printed QR code (or photos of it for your customers). No special hardware required.
What about my BVN?
Your BVN is sent once to Providus Bank for NIBSS verification. We never store your BVN on our own servers. Read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
What if my customer doesn't have a smartphone?
Any Android phone running Android 6 (Marshmallow) or newer, or any iPhone 6S or newer, can install the ThynkPay app. The app is small and works on any data plan. If you're not sure, our field agent can help your customers check when they visit.
